Taking place on the third Friday of the month.

 

One of the longest running markets in the Essex area which prides itself on delivering local produce to residents and providing a range of stalls selling various types of homegrown produce.

 

Stall holders must have grown or made the goods and traders are within a 30 mile radius.

Come and join us on this classic ride: 52 miles through the quiet lanes and villages of south Essex. Starting in East London at the Lee Valley VeloPark, we're soon out of town and after stops along the way for lunch and tea, we reach the Finish in the pretty gardens of Priory Park, Southend where you can relax and enjoy refreshments, music and sports massage before making your way home - Southend Victoria railway station is close by.

is an Essex-wide, year-long celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) showcasing the county’s pioneering and inventive spirit through a series of meaningful events, exhibitions, projects and curated opportunities.

It aims to engage, motivate, challenge and inspire children and their families, adult learners, business professionals and entrepreneurs about all things STEAM related. The year-long programme will be rooted around a number of flagship events, not least the British Science Festival coming to Chelmsford in September 2020 and features science, engineering, the arts, cultural events, festivals and community projects.

2020 is the 100th year anniversary of Marconi, the 400th year anniversary of the sailing of Mayflower and the 100th year anniversary of HMS Beagle.

Building on the success of our science strand with our Science & the Imagination Day at Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford. In 2019, there were fun experiments with Sandford Mill, Slime making workshops, Mad Science shows, author talks and Ozobots and Code Club with Essex Libraries.

 

March 2020 – Raspberry Jam Tech Festival

 

Family fun STEAM activities with Raspberry Pi, Microbits, coding and digital art.

The British Science Festival is Europe’s longest standing science Festival, travelling to a different place in the United Kingdom each year. The Festival aims to connect people with scientists, engineers, technologists and social scientists.

 

Each year, there is an inspiring programme of free events to the public over four or five days, bursting with exciting opportunities to get involved in. Talks, workshops and drop-in events span a diverse range of subjects that encompass science in the broadest sense, promising something for everyone!

BUGGY TIME

Southend Festival Chorus meets every

Wednesday during term-time at St. Peter’s Church, Eastbourne Grove, Westcliff, at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start until 9.45pm. Competent singers of all voice parts are always welcome.

 

THAMESIDE MUMMERS

 We are excited to announce a brand new venue for The Southend Vintage Fair.

 The new venue is at Garons park, inside the Southend Leisure & Tennis Centre.

 The new hall is twice the size of the old venue and has plenty of parking. So the event will feature even more stalls and a bigger dance floor area.

With live music, dancing and our very own Retro Radio Roadshow.

Vintage tearoom by Vintage Allsorts and much more.
